We’ve got a special edition of SonarMix for you this week, with a true creative force, Josh Caffé, stepping up for SonarMix 063. The multi-talented British-Ugandan artist has been a stalwart of London’s club scene for the past decade, and it feels like 2025 is the year when the rest of the world finally catches up with his outsized influence on modern house and techno. 

Josh is an esteemed DJ and curator - a regular at gay and queer parties like Adonis and Body Movements, as well as London institution Fabric, he also runs his own event series, Love Child - but his talents extend beyond the booth. More than just a producer, he’s an accomplished songwriter and powerful vocalist, as can be heard on his debut album Poppa Zesque. After debuting at Sónar 2023 as Paranoid London’s frontman, he’s bringing his own band to Sónar Lisboa and Sónar this year for a pair of fierce, empowered live sets, channelling his heroes Grace Jones and Prince. 

It’s with that in mind that he’s recorded this mix: “...A DJ version of the kind of musical journey I want to take people on with my show… deep, sexy and genre-bending”. Across a luxurious two-hour session (we just couldn’t say no), the seductive sound of classic house and techno is given a modern twist. Bonafide legends, underrated producers, future classics, obscure cuts, timeless tracks… it’s all here.
