SonarMix 035 is a fresh twist on a classic formula, a perfect description of what <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://sonarlisboa.pt/en/activity/jennifer-loveless">Jennifer Loveless</a> has been doing for the last decade. Over 69 sultry minutes, the Canadian-born producer and DJ stretches out for a session of seductive, hypnotic dance music: a soundtrack for the small hours, and a taste of what to expect when she appears at <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="http://www.sonarlisboa.pt/">Sónar Lisboa 2024</a>.&nbsp;<div class="raw-html-embed"><iframe width="100%" height="166" scrolling="no" frameborder="no" allow="autoplay" src="https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=https%3A//api.soundcloud.com/tracks/1765630398%3Fsecret_token%3Ds-6Bt6Y14tuPZ&amp;color=%23ff5500&amp;auto_play=false&amp;hide_related=false&amp;show_comments=true&amp;show_user=true&amp;show_reposts=false&amp;show_teaser=true"></iframe></div>&nbsp;Now based in London, Loveless came of age during ten years spent in Australia where she slowly became a fixture on the scene and honed her skills as a DJ. When <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://jenniferloveless.bandcamp.com/album/water">her first productions</a> started to emerge following the pandemic, their elegant, sophisticated sound owed much to those years she spent both on the dancefloor and in the booth.&nbsp;Her taste for understated, functional and gently psychedelic dance music is on display throughout SonarMix 035, as well as her skill for unearthing tracks from forgotten and obscure producers. There’s lush deep house (G Tom &amp; Franck C, DJ Rasoul), restrained, tasteful early 2000s tech house (Smithmonger and Nathan Coles), as well as a rare breakbeat track from Timo Maas and a bassy roller courtesy of underrated French producer D’Julz.
