After a jaw-dropping show at Sónar 2023 last year, Daniel Lopatin brings his latest album as Oneohtrix Point Never, Again, to Lisbon. From pioneering the first-ever internet music genre (his track ‘nobody here’ is widely seen as the first example of vaporwave) to soundtracking films and producing The Weeknd’s 2022 album Dawn FM, the cult producer has come a long way from self-releasing CDRs and cassettes in the early 2000s. Throughout his career he’s been fascinated with music’s all-consuming relationship with its own past, and Again continues his exploration of nostalgia and memory, but with a notably more personal tone. At Sónar Lisboa 2024, he’ll bring it to life with visuals by French artist Freeka Tet, best known for his plunderphonic and provocative work for the likes of Amnesia Scanner.
