The afro house explosion of recent years was made possible by people like DJ Satelite. Back in 2000 in Luanda, the then-youthful producer and DJ founded Seres Produções with his brother DJ Vamburguer to provide a platform for the nascent Angolan kuduro and afro house scene. 20 years on, and the label is still a vital platform for house artists from Angola and beyond, and a reference point the world over. Its founder has preferred to stick to the shadows, but with a debut album in the works, he’s ready to step into the light. Based in Lisbon since 2015, his sets are entrancing affairs, weaving together soulful grooves and deep rhythms. Don’t miss a master at work at Sónar Lisboa 2024.
