Two modern DJs who instinctively understand house music culture and its roots in the Black gay community, BASHKKA and Ogazón approach the genre in different ways, but with the same intentions.
Born to a Turkish family in Bavaria, BASHKKA’s approach to music has been shaped by a decade spent in New York, where she found a chosen family amongst the city's trans community. Her sets blend the fierceness of that city’s ballroom scene with her own influences: from classic ghetto house to new school club cuts, with a heavy representation of queer and SWANA artists. Spanish DJ Ogazón is a perfect complement, a master technician with a similarly encyclopaedic knowledge of house music. A vinyl-only DJ who came up through the Amsterdam after-hours scene, she’s an expert in building and maintaining a groove.
We’re gearing up for a masterclass in house music - and plenty of fireworks - when this pair go back-to-back for the very first time at Sónar Lisboa 2025.
