Over 30 activities announced for Sónar+D Lisboa today
Today the lineup for Sónar+D Lisboa is released with over 30 activities spanning installation pieces, AV performances and artist-led discussions and workshops. It will be held between 8th-10thof April across three different buildings in Lisbon's Hub Criativo Do Beato, as part of Sónar Lisboa 2022. This is the largest edition to date of Sónar+D to be held outside of Barcelona.
Amongst the highlights are “Nati Infiniti”, a first-ever installation piece presented by musician and composer Alessandro Cortini which will occupy the entirety of a disused factory, the immersive geological exhibition “Earthworks” by Semiconductor, and a hybrid conference and presentation from Hamill Industries, Kiani del Valle & UPC Barcelona.
Also on the programme are works by Portuguese artists and researchers including a hybrid choreography installation that uses brainwave scans by Satore Studio, an immersive aural environment created by sound researcher Cláudia Martinho, and a virtual reality experience imagined by painter and activist Francisco Vidal.
They’re joined by internationally renowned artists and thinkers like internet provocateurs Tega Brain & Sam Lavigne, Web3 expert Bas Grasmeyer and the remarkable investigative work of Forensic Architecture.
They’re joined by many more as part of an ‘‘antidisciplinary’ event that encourages collaboration between different disciplines across the digital spectrum, focusing on the key themes of sustainability and human rights in the digital age.
Sónar+D explores creativity and its role as a driving force for change in the 21st century, with programming that spans art, science, technology and philosophy. It stands behind Sónar’s belief that the ideas, languages and tools emerging from creative communities have impacts far beyond art.
